The Panama hat (also known as Jipijapa in Spanish-speaking countries) is a hand-woven straw hat from Latin America whose manufacture began in Ecuador in the 17th century and then gradually spread. It is made from the fine, so-called "toquilla straw" of the disc flower plant (Carludovica palmata, also "Panama hat plant") and is not to be confused with the pintao traditionally worn in Panama.
The Panama hat has been made in the provinces of Manabí and Azuay in Ecuador since 1630.

We ship freight-free with DHL within Germany for purchases over €50. For a small additional charge, we also ship by express with UPS. You will be given this option during the checkout process before purchase.
European Union
We ship with DHL or UPS within Europe. Freight costs will be calculated at checkout depending on your location . You can also choose DHL or UPS at checkout.
We charge local VAT on the purchase price. Since we are a German shop, we display our prices with our local VAT of 19%. In some European countries, the VAT is slightly higher and this is added to the price.
UK / Switzerland and rest of the world
We ship worldwide with DHL or UPS.
Freight costs will be calculated at checkout depending on your location. You can also choose DHL or UPS at checkout.
If your delivery address is outside the European Union, you are entitled to purchase tax-free. The price will then be displayed without taxes.
Customs & import duties
International orders shipped outside the European Union are tax-free but may be subject to customs duties and VAT in your country.
Due to new regulations, US citizens do not pay customs duties if the purchase price does not exceed 800USD. For other countries, please contact your local customs authority.
We are not responsible for additional fees and/or brokerage fees or delays in shipping caused by your local customs authorities. Any freight and customs fees incurred when a shipment cannot be delivered because you refuse it will be charged to you and deducted from your purchase price upon return.
